HARDWARE ACCELERATION
Compatible fixed-function GPU hardware can decode and encode video more efficiently than general CPU processing. Jellyfin documents Intel Quick Sync, NVIDIA NVENC/NVDEC, AMD AMF or VA-API, Apple VideoToolbox and supported Rockchip acceleration paths, depending on operating system.

MEDIA STORAGE DESIGN
Measure the current library, then include annual additions, free-space headroom, RAID overhead and independent backup copies.
RAID can keep the library available after supported drive failures, but it does not protect against deletion, theft, corruption or disaster.
